Udaipur
An independent auditorium surrounded by colonial institutional buildings, engages in a dialogue with the past. Critiquing the dominant expression of power that forms much of colonial architecture, this auditorium revisits the concept of the verandah through an opulent display of local materials and squat horizontal proportions. Exposed stone masonry, exaggerated capital of polished granite punctuated by brass connector’s leads one into a modern multileveled interior space of the foyer and auditorium.
