Kori’s is a Korean Fast Food Burger chain that opened in a small 20’ x 9’ space with a 12’ high ceiling. The functional stipulations of the kitchen literally took over the space leaving very little space for people to sit or even order. The design strategy sought to open the space up and bring humour into it. The mosaic textured grey tiles continued the floor onto the rear wall of the kitchen and the folded onto the entrance wall creating a spatial continuity completed by the grey ceiling above. Parallel to the entrance wall, against an orange hue of a chimta wall alluding to bygone methods of flipping burgers.
