Mehta Farm

Completed in 2009
Faridabad

A rectangular 2 acre land set parallel to the western horizon is a landscape project envisaged around a future farm house. Strategically situating the space of the house, the landscape is inspired a series of earth marks that negotiate the imagined building though different ‘land’-scapes. As the southern sun is used for the fruit trees in the grove-scape, the forest scape is marked by summer flowering trees. Parallel to the western horizon is the mound-scape, a space that inlays a manicured garden along with an edge of winter flowering trees beyond which banana and papaya plantations create the fragmented-scape. Different varieties of palms, ground cover, hedges, shrubs and a walking path create a secondary system of orders through out the site.
