The Alok Inc. Showroom is located in a midtown Manhattan building, a merchandising mart, in a 2500 sqft corner space with 10ft high windows overlooking the Empire State Building. The scheme centers around an unfolding space formed by illuminated perforated metal sheets anchored on 8′ high partition walls. The materiality of the illuminated perforated metal sheets as it folds through the space gives the entire volume continuity, a branded presence that recall hidden processes of production in the textiles industries that extensively use metal sheets perforated to different patterns of design.
